Belgian Envoy Visits Israel Diamond Exchange

John Cornet d’ Elzius, Belgium’s Ambassador to Israel made an official visit to the country’s diamond bourse in Ramat Gan last Thursday, the Israel Diamond Exchange said. The envoy from Brussels received a tour of the bourse trading hall and a briefing about the diamond industry’s significance in Israel.

The Ambassador was met by IDE President Yair Sahar, his deputy Moti Fluk, Vice-president Ben-Zion Shaso, Control Committee Chair Shaul Titzhaki, General Manager Moti Besser and honorary president Hagai Halevi. During his tour, the ambassador received an explanation of the diamond industry’s structure from Sahar and an explanation of the sector’s history from Besser which included up-to-date rough and polished diamond export figures and information about the industry’s dedication to society at large.

As a token of appreciation for his visit, Cornet d’Elzius received a photograph of the Old City of Jerusalem from Sahar, the IDE said.
