IDI Organizes First Israel Diamond Pavilion at Jewellery Shanghai

IDEX Online News) – The Israel Diamond Institute has organized the first Israeli pavilion at Jewellery Shanghai 2013, which opens tomorrow (Friday). Thirteen companies are exhibiting under the auspices of the IDI. This is the first Israeli national pavilion at a show on the Chinese mainland.

The 13 companies are: Ajami Diamonds, Asi Abir Diamonds, Avi Paz Group, D.M.G. International Ltd., DN Diamonds, Eliyahu Yona Diamonds, I.C.S. Diamonds, Moti Israeli Diamonds, Niru Diamonds, Reddiam, S. Juwal Diamonds, Shlomo Bichachi Diamonds and Y. Dvash.

Due to the growing importance of the Chinese market to Israel, IDI has had an image booth at the show for the past five years.

“The Israeli diamond industry is very interested in expanding our trade with this enormous and rapidly developing market,” said IDI chairman Moti Ganz.

“There has been a marked upturn in interest in diamonds and diamond jewelry in China and Israeli diamonds have been eagerly sought after. By exhibiting in China we are demonstrating our belief in the Chinese economy and showing that we have taken a strategic decision to intensify our efforts in this market.”

Asia is Israel’s second largest market for polished diamonds, representing more than 35 percent of total polished diamond exports and these figures are growing steadily. Israel supplies polished diamonds to Hong Kong, China, India, Thailand, Singapore and Japan.

IDI also organizes Israel Diamond Pavilions in three major trade shows in Hong Kong and three in Mumbai.
