Israel Aerospace Industries Is Actively Pursuing Cooperation With Local Industries In Brazil

« Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is actively pursuing cooperation with local industries in Brazil, » said Joseph Weiss, president and CEO of IAI, prior to the opening of the international defense and security LAAD exhibition which will take place in Rio de Janeiro on April 09, 2013.

« To foster collaboration and cooperation, we intend to integrate into the Brazilian defense and security markets by working on strengthening our ties with local industries. We already have a number of business proposals which are currently under review. »

At the LAAD exhibition, IAI will present leading satellite technologies, a variety of drones, mission aircraft, intelligence systems, products in the field of homeland security (HLS), integrated maritime solutions such as the Barak 8 air defense system, radars, and command and control systems.

IAI’s president and CEO is leading a delegation of experts to Brazil, where they will participate in many business meetings with defense, military and industrial officials.

Several days ago, IAI was selected by the Brazilian Air Force to execute a large-scale air refueling project for several Boeing 767-300 aircraft. For the past several months, a Brazilian state has been operating command and control systems made by IAI. These systems provide decision makers with an ongoing snapshot of events occurring in various territories. Brazil’s Federal Police continues to utilize IAI’s Heron Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

« We hope in the coming period to announce further developments, » said Mr. Weiss.
