Video-over-cellular solutions provider LiveU raises $27M from Lightspeed, Canaan, Carmel and Pitango

Portable video-over-cellular solutions provider Livet raised $27 million in a fourth funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation by existing investors: Canaan Partners, Carmel Ventures and Pitango Venture Capital. To date, LiveU raised $50.5 million.

LiveU’s live video transmission system enables television and online broadcasters to transmit live video from any locale using wireless video transmitter. The company recently introduced its laptop and mobile app solutions using multiple connections and a unified management platform, enabling control rooms to manage multiple video feeds from LiveU units operating in different locations.

LiveU offers customers a complete, end-to-end live video transmission solution with global customers including NBC, BBC News, TEDx Tokyo, TV Berlin, SBS Korea and Zee India.

LiveU was founded in 2006 by Wasserman and Avichai (Avi) Cohen, LiveU’s COO. The Company is based out of Hackensack, NJ, USA, with R&D center in Kfar Saba, Israel.
