$35,000,000 Plan for Basic Chemical Industry in Israel Announced

Plans for the establishment of a $35,000,000 basic chemical manufacturing complex in Israel were reported here today by the Jewish Agency. The plans envisage production of nitrogen fertilizers, phosphates, euphoric and phosphoric acids, soda ash and magnesia compounds.

Biological computer uses DNA in calculations

A biological computer – the most advanced one ever developed – has been created by researchers from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. This biological transducer is created using only biomolecules including DNA and enzymes. The device is able to read genetic code, carry out calculations and manipulate DNA to report its results.
